Home Sweet Home Durham

On a quiet residential street, a red brick terraced house was transformed by true stories from across County Durham.

21 participants, representing a broad spectrum of County Durham residents, were video interviewed against a portable green screen studio at 3 different locations for this installation which was part of Lumiere, Durham, the largest outdoor light festival in the UK which over 200.000 people attended.
The edited stories about the interviewees' home life, sometimes funny, serious, startling or even mundane, formed the inspiration for Home Sweet Home Durham.
On a continuous loop, this projection was shown for 4 consecutive rainy nights and follows on from a similar project the year before, Home Sweet Home Aylesbury, which also allowed locals to become the star of the show whilst reflecting on life in their particular area.
